The Village Nursery has remained with the same family since 1995, when Maureen and John Scott bought the nursery. With Maureen being an experienced qualified early years teacher, they were particularly keen to extend the outside play areas, have a separate pre-school, and baby room, to give the children an enjoyable learning environment, which can be seen today.
In 2015 their son Alan Scott joined the team, and is the Managing Director of the nursery. Alan has previously worked for many years in finance and has masters degree in business management and finance. He is married to Amy and they have two children. Maureen and John are now retired, but keep an interest in the nursery. Alan is dedicated to running an excellent, caring, safe and happy nursery for children and parents.
The day to day running of the nursery is supervised by our Nursery Management Team (see below), which is overseen by Alan

Our Ethos
At The Village Nursery we are committed to providing a healthy, safe and caring environment that fosters a passion for learning through play, both indoors and outdoors. We nurture a stimulating environment to develop each child's individuality and uniqueness enabling them to reach their full potential. Staff and Parents work in partnership to provide the highest standard of care and education, with learning tailored to each child through their interests and passions, whilst having as much fun as possible. We place high value on developing children's speech and language and promoting the benefits of outdoor play in a happy and fun setting. Above all, we aim to give our children a wonderful experience, with specialist qualified practitioners supporting them in developing their self-confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
